In the Fall of 2001, Hannes Priesch and Niki Lederer sent letters to over one-hundred emerging and established artists in New York, Toronto, Bratislava, and Vienna, inviting them to stage their own deaths for a photo shoot in their own studios. The results are collected here, with two photographs – one each by Priesch and Lederer – of the 61 artists who responded.

Death in the Studio launched at, Art Metropole, Printed Matter and Vienna Secession.
